The Symphony is excited to present the John and Marny Sherman Education Series which includes Young People's, KinderKonzert and Link Up performances for elementary students. Recognizing the enthusiasm for more cross-curricular programming, two of these programs, Composing a Story and Peter and the Wolf, will highlight the relationships between music and reading. We are also thrilled to present Carnegie Hall’s recorder-based program Link Up: The Orchestra Moves. Young People's, KinderKonzert and Link Up performances are eligible for the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts Open Doors Transportation Fund. This fund may provide bus allowances for up to 100% of your transportation costs to the Kansas City Symphony’s Young People’s, KinderKonzert, and Link Up programs.
Middle school, high school and college students are invited to join us for a number of different programs including open dress rehearsals, master classes, performance competitions and more. We are also excited to present two days of TubaChristmas and a number of open dress rehearsals.
Finally, our littlest listeners will be able to experience the instruments of the orchestra through our very popular Petite Performances. These brief concerts take place on stage in Helzberg Hall and include hands on activities through the Bush and Jamie Helzberg Instrument Petting Zoo.
