About the Kansas City Symphony Guild

History of theKansas City Symphony Guild

The Kansas City Symphony Guild was organized in 1971 as the Philharmonic Guild North.  It's purpose was to support and promote the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra.  When the orchestra disbanded in l983-84 and reorganized as the Kansas City Symphony, the Philharmonic Guild North was renamed the Kansas City Symphony Guild with the same purpose:  to support and promote the Kansas City Symphony.

The Guild is one of five auxiliary organizations affiliated with the Symphony and it is the only auxiliary with a northland base.

The Guild’s purpose is to support and promote awareness of the Symphony.  For thirty four years, one fund raising activity has been the Homes of Note tour.  The other activity is the Cabaret Concert, a dinner and symphony concert event held each spring in the northland.  The next concert will be held on March 15, 2009.

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at North Cross Methodist Church.
