The Kansas City Symphony Guild was organized in 1971 as the Philharmonic Guild North.  Its purpose was to support and promote the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra.  When the orchestra reorganized as the Kansas City Symphony in l983-84, the Philharmonic Guild North was renamed the Kansas City Symphony Guild with the same purpose:  to support and promote the Kansas City Symphony.    The Guild is one of five auxiliary organizations affiliated with the Symphony and it is the only auxiliary with a northland base. The Guild’s purpose is to support and promote awareness of the Symphony.     For thirty-seven years, one fund raising activity has been the annual Homes of Note tour.  Tour XXXVII will take place on November 16, 2011.  It features three magnificent homes from The National. All homes will be decorated for the holidays. (For details, click on the Homes of Note tab above.)    The other activity is the Cabaret Concert, a dinner and symphony concert event held each spring in the northland.  The next concert will be held in March 11, 2012.    Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at North Cross Methodist Church.

Founding Members   Bernice Williams and Hazel Shippee, along with Sue Woods Buck (not pictured), are still active in the Symphony Guild.
